A Prayer to Know God’s Holiness

A Prayer to Know God’s Holiness

“Day and night they never stop saying: ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is, and is to come.’ Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives for ever and ever.” (Revelation 4:8b-10).

God wants to be known by His holiness. It is the attribute that He uses to describe Himself. It is also the crowning attribute in which all the other attributes are contained—His love, purity, goodness, kindness, and beauty. If we want to know God, we have to know His holiness.

In our evangelism efforts we often tell about the works of God, but not about God Himself. Jesus calls us to testify about Himself. The holiness of God is an absolutely awesome topic. The four living creatures and the twenty-four elders in the throne room of heaven were able to see God in His holiness, and when they did they fell down to worship Him, laying their crowns at His feet.

If we want to go deeper in knowing God, it is so important to seek to know His holiness in our personal life. The following animated video is a prayer that will help you to know God in His holiness

A Prayer to Know God’s Holiness

Lord, take me deeper in knowing You. I pray that you would establish Your reign in my heart. Teach me about Your holiness. Teach me to seek Your presence all throughout the day. I seek to walk along the highway of holiness. Remove from my life that which is not of You. I desire Your ways in my life, and I stand in awe and wonder at Your holiness and majesty. I long to praise and worship You with my entire life. Purify me so that I might enjoy the fullness of my relationship with You. Make Your dwelling place in my heart. Let everything I do and say glorify Your name, and make me a blessing to others.

Thank you that I can partner with you in order to see the release of Your divine will on earth, the summing up of all things in You. I praise you for your acts of power and for your surpassing greatness (Psalm 150:2). I thank You for taking me deeper still in knowing You and Your holiness. I will ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; I worship You in the splendor of Your holiness (Psalm 29:2). In Jesus’ name, amen.

How to Overcome Discouragement in Your Life

How to Overcome Discouragement in Your Life

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9).

Maybe you are going through discouragement today. The devil may be trying hard to defeat you personally, and you may feel like giving up. Remember that God is with you and He is good. You are deeply valued by Him, and He has a purpose for your life. How can we be strong and of good courage during these times?

I went through a personal season of discouragement when returning to the U.S. after living overseas as a missionary for many years. But God had his purposes in that time that I can see more clearly now. I couldn’t do what I do today without that dark time of discouragement. It was purposeful and brought me far deeper in my spiritual life. It was a very difficult time in my life, but through it I learned some key ways to resist the devil’s attacks.

There are several principles we can apply in our lives in order to overcome discouragement. There are ways we can position our heart in faithful obedience and encouragement in God.

How to Overcome Discouragement in Your Life

The following animated video will show you six ways to resist and overcome discouragement in your life. This is a 13-minute video called: How to Overcome Discouragement.

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world (1 Peter 5:8-9).

The Power of a Praying Church

The Power of a Praying Church

“The life of the church is the highest life, and its office is to pray. Its prayer life is the highest life, the most fragrant, the most conspicuous… The very life and prosperity of God’s cause – even its very existence – depend on prayer. And the advance and triumph of His cause depend on one thing: that we ask of Him.”  E. M. Bounds

There is supernatural power released when the Church in the city prays. What is needed in the worldwide Church at this hour is a unified, praying Church. We need supernatural power. Only the power of God will defeat the attacks of the enemy in our cities. Prayer will affect everything. It will affect time, places, occasions, and circumstances. A praying Church within the city brings success and supernatural power into that region.

The obstacles towards city transformation are many. We must believe that our cities can be transformed by the power of God. We must know that none of us has the answer to our city; only God does. He is the one who transforms and brings change. We must stop our busyness, remove ourselves from the distractions all around us, and become passionate for God. This animated video will help you to realize the power available to the praying Church.

“Success is sure to follow a church given to much prayer. The supernatural element in the church, without which it must fail, comes only through praying… More heart and soul must be in the praying that is done if the church would go forth in the strength of her Lord and perform the wonders that is her heritage by divine promise.” E. M. Bounds

A Prayer for a Thankful Heart

A Prayer for a Thankful Heart

“Would you know who is the greatest saint in the world? …It is he who is always thankful to God, who wills everything that God wills, who receives everything as an instance of God’s goodness and has a heart always ready to praise God for it… Could you therefore work miracles, you could not do more for yourself than by this thankful spirit, for it turns all that it touches into happiness.” William Law

Most people do not realize the power of giving thanks. When we choose to thank God in the midst of difficulty, it defeats the forces of darkness in the spiritual realm. When we thank God for every gift He has given us even when things are hard, the enemy loses the battle against us. He is stopped in his tracks when we come to God with a thankful heart.

Learn to be thankful for every blessing from God in your life.It is of great significance to Him if in the midst of great trials, we can be thankful. There is a way of looking at life from the standpoint of eternity. The reality of eternal life and eternal glory that far exceeds this life is a priceless treasure. Our afflictions are working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. The following prayer will help you cultivate a thankful heart.

A Prayer for a Thankful Heart

Lord, teach me to offer you a heart of thanksgiving and praise in all my daily experiences of life. Teach me to be joyful always, to pray continually and to give thanks in all my circumstances. I accept them as Your will for my life (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18). I long to bring pleasure to Your heart daily. Break the power of the enemy in my life. Defeat Him through my sacrifice of praise. Change my outlook and attitude into one of joyful contentment with my present circumstances. I thank You for… [Name a difficult circumstance in your life presently and thank God for it.]

Jesus, I want to be like You who obeyed the Father without complaint. You embraced the chains of humanity when You walked this earth. Convict me whenever I complain or compare myself with others. Give me Your attitude of humility and thankful acceptance. I want to be like the Apostle Paul who learned contentment in every circumstance. I choose to continually offer You a sacrifice of praise, the fruit of lips that give praise to Your name (Hebrews 13:15). I long to bring a smile to Your face. Teach me the power of a thankful heart. I know that Your truth dwells in a thankful heart.

“I will give thanks to the LORD because of His righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High. O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens” (Psalm 7:17- 18:1). In Jesus’ name, amen.

Praying God’s Word for Salvations

Praying God’s Word for Salvations

“It is Jesus who teaches us how to pray. He learned it amid the trials and tears of His earthly life. In heaven it is still His beloved work. His life there is prayer. Nothing delights Him more than to find those He can take with Him into the Father’s presence, clothing them with power to pray down God’s blessing to those around them, training them to be His fellow-workers in the intercession by which the kingdom is to be revealed on earth.” Andrew Murray

Jesus teaches us how to pray and love. He teaches us how to pray heaven’s blessings to earth. As we pray, we receive the heart of God for the world around us. He clothes us with power. He leads us to people in need with His love and compassion. He brings us to the lost and lonely, the hurting and sick who need healing. Prayer leads to a lifestyle of loving and caring. Jesus is our example. He wants us to be His light.

The darkness vanishes as we pray for the lost. Jesus convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8). He brings them to salvation and repentance. Here is a Biblical prayer that will help you to pray for your unsaved family, friends, and co-workers.

A Biblical Prayer for Salvations

Lord, I pray that You would teach me to yield myself to Your Spirit as I pray for the salvation of those who do not know you. Holy Spirit, teach me to trust You as a living person who leads my life and my prayers. I long to see Your power in my life just as the Apostle Paul did as he reached out to the lost (1 Corinthians 2:2-5). I thank you that You indwell, seal, sanctify, and empower me. You guide me, teach me, and pray through me. Help me to partner with You as I use Your Word in praying for the salvation of my family, friends, and co-workers. Make me sensitive to Your promptings and teach me to partner with You in praying Your Word over those who are searching for You.

Jesus, I want to prioritize prayer for others just as You did on earth. You withdrew to lonely places to pray (Mark 1:35, Luke 5:16). You were faithful in intercession and even prayed whole nights. Teach me to be faithful in prayer. Help me to remember the lost when I pray [Bring before the Lord five unsaved family members or friends]. Show them that the free gift of eternal life is in You alone (Romans 6:23, John 3:16). Help me to be Your witness andlove them. Help me to show warm-hearted acts of kindness towards them. I know that love comes from You (1 John 4:7). Help me to show love towards everyone I meet. Love always hopes and believes (Pray all of 1 Corinthians 13). Help me to be active in sharing my faith (Philemon 6). I thank You that I can be Your witness everywhere I go (Acts 1:8).

I thank you that the darkness vanishes as I pray for the lost. Thank you for convicting the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8). I pray that you will soften the hearts of [Name one-by-one others who do not know Christ]. Remove the spiritual blindness from their eyes, and help them to understand the truth about You. Bring them to repentance and salvation (Acts 3:19). I believe that You are working in their hearts even as I pray. Help me to let my light shine before men, that they may see my good deeds and glorify my Father in heaven (Mathew 5:16). Help me to be Your light in their lives. In Jesus’ name, amen.

A Prayer for an Unhindered Prayer Life

A Prayer for an Unhindered Prayer Life

“If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does” (James 1:5-8).

When we pray, it’s important to believe the truth of what we are praying. Did you realize that spiritual strongholds hinder our prayer life? When we believe a lie of the enemy, it’s hard to pray with faith. It’s hard to pray confident prayers when we are believing, “God doesn’t love me” or “I’m a failure.” If we believe that God doesn’t love us or care, how can we believe that He will answer our prayers and how can we pray in faith about our destiny? Too many negative beliefs will cloud our prayer life.

When we believe a lie, we become double-minded in prayer. When we are double-minded and unstable, we are indecisive and without faith in our prayers. We become doubtful. We doubt God’s Word and what He has told us about our lives. Our motives can become self-centered instead of God-centered (James 4:3). We lose our confidence in prayer and in God. We may think, “Is God really for me?” It’s hard to believe the Bible and believe a lie of the enemy at the same time.

We want an unhindered prayer life. We want to be diligent and recognize these lies in our lives. We want to pray with faith for God’s purposes for our lives and the lives of others. The following prayer will help you.

“Faith gives birth to prayer. It grows stronger, strikes deeper, and rises higher in the struggle and wrestling of mighty petitioning. Faith is the substance of things hope for (see Hebrews 11:1), the confidence and reality of the inheritance of the saints. Faith, too, is humble and persistent. It can wait and pray. It can stay on its knees or lie in the dust. It is the one great condition of prayer.” E. M. Bounds
