The trumpet Call to Fast and Pray

The Trumpet Call to Fast and Pray

“The trumpet call to fasting is being heard throughout the world. This is the decade of fasting and prayer. ‘Blow the trumpet in Zion, consecrate a fast, call a sacred assembly’ (Joel 2:15)… Today, the trumpet call of the Spirit is clear. We are to prepare for the future with a great deal of prayer and fasting. Congregations and leaders are responding worldwide.” Frank Damazio

There has been a dramatic increase in fasting and prayer worldwide over the last several years. Fasting combined with prayer and worship greatly affects our personal lives and releases the power of the Holy Spirit in us and in our cities.

This is God’s strategy for us in times of crisis. We can change the future direction of a nation if we fast and pray. God is merciful and slow to anger. He is gracious and compassionate, and He relents from doing harm (Joel 2:13b). We often look to honor, money, and the size of our ministry, but God values humility, fasting, and prayer. The Joel 2 fast in Scripture was God’s solution to calamity (see Joel 2:12-17). Disaster was coming to the land, but it was not too late to avert it. The Joel 2 fast may not only stop the judgment of God, but it can also release the power of God.

In the Bible blowing the trumpet announced the call to gather at the House of Prayer as a solemn assembly with fasting; it also signaled a crisis. The House of Prayer within a city is a perpetual solemn assembly. It is God’s solution in days of crisis. God is calling people all over the earth to enter into a lifestyle of fasting and prayer as the days get worse. The trumpet call is sounding all over the earth. The following video will help you to respond to the trumpet call to fast and pray.

How to Walk in the Fear of the Lord

How to Walk in the Fear of the Lord

“Teach me thy way, O Lord; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name” (Psalm 86:11).

As you look at your present life, what do you personally fear? You may be presently struggling with a fear that has gripped your heart deeply. Satan has released a spirit of fear all over the world, but the fear of the Lord counterattacks enemy fear. In light of this fact, we must learn how to walk in the fear of the Lord.

We all want a life full of energy, enthusiasm, and vigor. Unfortunately we do not often see this. When I look around the world, I see people filled with fear, unhappiness, apathy, and pain. But as Christians we want our lives to be filled with the awe and wonder of God. We want to look forward to the future, instead of living in fear and uncertainly. There is no better time to learn about the fear of the Lord as now when human fears are at an all time high.

The world is looking for a people who fear the Lord and know His glorious power. Let us be the ones who live in the fear of the Lord. God holds the world in His hands. He is our Strength and Shield. He goes before us and reigns forever. Our God is faithful and always by our side. He is the one we must fear and no other. We are in a critical hour. It’s time to live in awesome reverence and respect of the Lord. It’s time to fear the Lord. The following animated video will help you to walk in the fear of the Lord.

The Holiness of God

The Holiness of God

“In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphs, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke” (Isaiah 6:1-4).

Have you ever thought about what a holy God looks like?

Wherever God’s presence is felt, there men encounter the wonder and mystery of holiness. We are often too busy in our everyday lives to take time to think about and meditate on His holiness, but if we want to go deeper in knowing God, it is so important to seek to know His holiness in our personal life. He wants to be known by His holiness.

It is the attribute that He uses to describe Himself. It is also the crowning attribute in which all the other attributes are contained—His love, purity, goodness, kindness, and beauty. If we want to be fruitful and effective in our prayers, we need to seek to know God’s holiness. The following animated video will take you deeper in experiencing God’s holiness.

Listening Prayer and Expectation

Listening Prayer and Expectation

“The word of the Lord came to Elijah… “I will send rain upon the earth.” That was the foundation of that persistent praying and sevenfold watching on the mountaintop. First the ear heard, then the voice persistently claimed, and the eye expectantly looked. First the voice of God, then the voice of man.” S. D. Gordon

In order to pray God’s will, it is crucial that we hear His voice clearly. We all know what it is like to talk with someone who never listens. It is very frustrating! Likewise, God wants us to learn to listen to Him.

As we spend time before Him in quiet listening we are able to pray His will more fervently and with greater expectation, hitting the target effectively. When you give God time in listening prayer, He will direct your prayers strategically, even when you don’t realize it. He will help you to proclaim His will in your prayers, and your level of faith will increase.

God has so much to say to us daily, but often we can’t hear the fine, quiet tones of His voice.

He can’t tell us things because our hearing needs repair or we are not taking the time to listen. He often can’t speak into our lives because we are not ready or able to discern the treasures of what He has to say to us.  He can’t share His secrets because we are not listening or are distracted. Listening prayer builds expectation. This video will help you to listen to God with great expectation.

How to Pour Your Heart Out to God

How to Pour Your Heart Out to God

“Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior” (Habakkuk 3:17-18).

Did you know that even in sadness you can worship God in prayer? You can worship God in the midst of difficulty through a prayer of lament. There are many of these kinds of prayers in Scripture, and all the major Bible characters poured their hearts out to God in prayers of lament.

When experiencing the dark night of the soul, prayers of lament are so helpful. We live in a broken world where things do not always go right. There are times when we don’t know what God is doing or which way to turn.

Pouring out hearts out to God can make all the difference in the world because God actually changes us during these times. Prayers of lament are a form of worship and faith. We worship God even in the midst of pouring our difficulty out before Him. Instead of backing away from God during a hard time, we face the pain and worship Him with it.

Praising God in the midst of difficulty is so powerful because God stands in the moment with us. The animated video below will help you to know how to pour out your heart to God during difficult times in your life.

“If you are in mourning, you have the opportunity to worship in the most powerful way possible: lamentation. This worship isn’t done in order to have God remove the pain. It simply recognizes that God stands in the moment with us. Lamentation elevates God in the presence of our enemies. It brings out a side of God that other forms of worship simply cannot touch.” Graham Cooke

A Prayer to Know God’s Holiness

A Prayer to Know God’s Holiness

“Day and night they never stop saying: ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is, and is to come.’ Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives for ever and ever.” (Revelation 4:8b-10).

God wants to be known by His holiness. It is the attribute that He uses to describe Himself. It is also the crowning attribute in which all the other attributes are contained—His love, purity, goodness, kindness, and beauty. If we want to know God, we have to know His holiness.

In our evangelism efforts we often tell about the works of God, but not about God Himself. Jesus calls us to testify about Himself. The holiness of God is an absolutely awesome topic. The four living creatures and the twenty-four elders in the throne room of heaven were able to see God in His holiness, and when they did they fell down to worship Him, laying their crowns at His feet.

If we want to go deeper in knowing God, it is so important to seek to know His holiness in our personal life. The following animated video is a prayer that will help you to know God in His holiness

A Prayer to Know God’s Holiness

Lord, take me deeper in knowing You. I pray that you would establish Your reign in my heart. Teach me about Your holiness. Teach me to seek Your presence all throughout the day. I seek to walk along the highway of holiness. Remove from my life that which is not of You. I desire Your ways in my life, and I stand in awe and wonder at Your holiness and majesty. I long to praise and worship You with my entire life. Purify me so that I might enjoy the fullness of my relationship with You. Make Your dwelling place in my heart. Let everything I do and say glorify Your name, and make me a blessing to others.

Thank you that I can partner with you in order to see the release of Your divine will on earth, the summing up of all things in You. I praise you for your acts of power and for your surpassing greatness (Psalm 150:2). I thank You for taking me deeper still in knowing You and Your holiness. I will ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; I worship You in the splendor of Your holiness (Psalm 29:2). In Jesus’ name, amen.

The following animated 4-minute prayer and teaching video will motivate you to seek God’s holiness. It’s called: A Prayer to Know God’s Holiness.

How to Overcome Discouragement in Your Life

How to Overcome Discouragement in Your Life

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9).

Maybe you are going through discouragement today. The devil may be trying hard to defeat you personally, and you may feel like giving up. Remember that God is with you and He is good. You are deeply valued by Him, and He has a purpose for your life. How can we be strong and of good courage during these times?

I went through a personal season of discouragement when returning to the U.S. after living overseas as a missionary for many years. But God had his purposes in that time that I can see more clearly now. I couldn’t do what I do today without that dark time of discouragement. It was purposeful and brought me far deeper in my spiritual life. It was a very difficult time in my life, but through it I learned some key ways to resist the devil’s attacks.

There are several principles we can apply in our lives in order to overcome discouragement. There are ways we can position our heart in faithful obedience and encouragement in God.

How to Overcome Discouragement in Your Life

The following animated video will show you six ways to resist and overcome discouragement in your life. This is a 13-minute video called: How to Overcome Discouragement.
